What this site is
Malta Pre-Departure Guide is an independent editorial guide written for people preparing for Malta’s Single Permit Pre-Departure Course. It explains, in plain language, what the course involves, who it applies to, and how the registration process generally works — drawing only on information published by the official bodies that run the programme.
It is part of the Malta Guide Network, a small set of independent information sites that each focus on a single Malta-related public-service process. Each site is written, fact-checked, and dated separately, and none of them are operated by the institutions they describe.
How this guide is written
- Every policy-sensitive claim is traced back to an official source listed on the Sources page, with the date it was last checked.
- Where official materials describe a detail differently — for example, how a cost is broken down — this guide says so plainly rather than picking one version and presenting it as the only answer.
- Pages display a visible “Last verified” date so you can judge how current the information is before relying on it.
- This guide does not collect documents, payments, or login details, and it does not reproduce or imitate any official application form or portal.
What this site is not
Malta Pre-Departure Guide is not the Government of Malta, Identità, the Institute of Tourism Studies, the Human Rights Directorate, or any other official body, and it cannot submit applications, take payments, or change your case status. Whenever a page reaches the point where you need to take an official action, it links directly to the relevant official portal with a clearly labelled link.
